March 9, 2015 — Blainville, Quebec, Canada – Hitachi Systems Security, a Canadian-based global IT security service provider, is continuing its strategic global expansion through a newly signed partnership with Solana Networks, a Canadian technology vendor that provides intelligent monitoring products for mission-critical networks.
The rapid evolution of the global cyber threat landscape is putting significant pressure on businesses to safeguard their most valuable assets and customer data in ways that they have not in the past. While most cyber security breaches take advantage of already well-known vulnerabilities, some are the results of zero-day security attacks that are extremely hard to detect by traditional IT security solutions.
This collaboration is allowing Hitachi Systems Security to further improve the security of its customers by adding Flow Capture and Network Behavior Analysis (NBA) capabilities to its ArkAngel platform in order to identify network anomalies and pinpoint hard-to-detect security threats. This will allow ArkAngel to analyze network flow traffic to detect zero-day security attacks. The new capability complements signature-based threat detection and significantly enhances Hitachi Systems Security’s security analysts’ capacity of detecting early and previously unknown threats.
“The rapid changes in cyber security threats demand a proactive approach to IT security addressing the dynamic nature of new and emerging threats. Adding these new capabilities to our ArkAngel platform will allow our security analysts and experts to do that,” said Mario Venditti, Hitachi Systems Security’s chief operating officer. “Ever since our initial discussions back in early 2013, Solana Networks has demonstrated that their industry-leading solutions can easily be integrated into our ArkAngel platform and add value to what we offer to our MSS customer base.”
“Hitachi Systems Security has a first rate security analytics team which secures their client networks all around the globe. We are delighted to enter into a technology partnership with the company, assisting them to safeguard client networks from security threats and strengthening their position in the cyber security arms race,” added Nabil Seddigh, Solana Networks’ president.
Since expanding its global reach and delivering its services to a truly international client base, Hitachi Systems Security has built a strong network of business alliances in multiple regions of the world. Through its newly formed partnership with Solana Networks, Hitachi Systems Security will greatly enhance its ability to add to its existing service portfolio to deliver higher value Managed Security Services to its customers.
